Badge Installation

Music Badge Installation

Standard Installation (Mechanical Fasteners)

Most of our music badges are designed to be installed using mechanical fasteners, which is the traditional and most secure method for instruments and amplifiers.

What’s included

  • Pre-drilled mounting holes (standard)

  • Screws appropriate for the badge size and application

Recommended installation locations

  • Headstocks

  • Amplifier cabinets and heads

  • Speaker cabinets

  • Road cases and hard cases

Installation steps

  1. Position the badge

Dry fit the badge and confirm alignment and spacing before drilling or fastening.

  2. Mark and prepare holes

Use the badge as a guide to mark pilot hole locations. We strongly recommend using pilot holes for installation to prevent marring of screws and enabling a better looking finish. See chart below for recommended pilot hole sizes per badge type.

  3. Fasten securely

Install using light, even pressure. Do not overtighten—especially on wood or vintage materials.

  4. Final check

Confirm the badge sits flat and level before fully tightening.

Headstock Badges (No Holes Option)

For headstock badges, customers may request no mounting holes at the time of order.

These badges are intended to be installed using CA glue (cyanoacrylate / super glue) or a similar adhesive at the installer’s discretion.

Important notes

  • Adhesive installation is optional, not standard

  • Surface preparation is critical

  • Installation should be done carefully and deliberately

Adhesive installation guidance

  1. Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and oil-free

  2. Test fit before applying adhesive

  3. Apply a very small amount of CA glue

  4. Press into place and hold steady until set

Car Badge Installation

Our car badges are designed for clean, permanent installation using automotive-grade adhesive. No drilling required.

What you’ll need

  • Clean microfiber cloth

  • Isopropyl alcohol (70% or higher)

  • Masking tape (optional, for alignment)

Installation steps

  1. Test fit first

Hold the badge in place to confirm positioning and spacing.

  2. Clean the surface

Thoroughly clean the area with isopropyl alcohol to remove wax, dirt, or residue. Let it dry completely.

  3. Peel and position

Remove the adhesive backing and carefully align the badge. Once it touches the surface, avoid sliding.

  4. Apply firm pressure

Press firmly across the entire badge for 20–30 seconds.

  5. Let it cure

Avoid washing the vehicle or exposing the badge to moisture for 24 hours.

Notes

  • Designed for smooth, flat painted or metal surfaces

  • Automotive-grade 3M adhesive foam is weather-resistant and vibration-safe

  • Removal will require heat and care to avoid surface damage
